Join us today for Emmy Aguayo’s amazing TA workshop, where she will share tips for getting students to speak out in class. Detailed description below:
Leading a productive class discussion can prove challenging for new instructors and seasoned professors alike. Students may be hesitant to speak up, and teachers may have difficulty finding the right questions to ask and the best way to ask them. Reading guides are an efficient, effective tool for producing fruitful discussions, and they are easily adapted for any course or classroom setting.
In this session I will introduce various types of guides, and I will demonstrate how to create them and use them in your classroom. Finally, as a participant, you will create a guide that can be used in your course this semester, so please bring your textbook to the class.
